David Barra

David joined ASD in May of 2024.  As the Senior Vice President of Asset Management, he oversees all operational assets and assists with acquisitions, development, client relations and deal flow.  David has over 25 years of commercial real estate experience across multiple asset classes including multifamily, student, active adult, affordable housing and mixed-use retail.

Prior to joining ASD, David was VP of Asset Management for PGIM (Prudential Global Investment Management), a leading global management firm, specializing in the multifamily space.  David oversaw a portfolio of over 11,000 units spanning across multiple markets including: Minneapolis, Chicago, Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Denver and Seattle valued over $3.2B.  Prior to PGIM, David worked at Clarion Partners as a Senior Vice President of Asset Management where he oversaw multifamily assets valued in excess of $2B within various life cycle stages including development, core, core plus, and value-add.

David attended Boston University and the University of California-Riverside.  He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, golfing, hunting and trying new restaurants.
